Green walls have become increasingly popular in recent years, and here at Foliage Design Systems we couldn’t be happier with this trend. Not only can a green wall serve as an eye-catching focal point, it can also act as a natural filter to clean stale or polluted air. Green walls elegantly blend form and function to create serene, organic indoor environments.
Earlier this year, we were contracted to design, install and maintain four green walls for the 30,000 square-foot headquarters of Guidewell Innovation CoRE in Orlando, Florida. Guidewell is a medical research center that seeks to develop solutions to some of the world’s foremost issues in healthcare. The organization prides itself on being on the cutting-edge of medical research, which is why its founders wanted to design a space for its headquarters that’s truly unique. That’s where we came in.
The green walls at Guidewell were a massive undertaking that took months of preparation to accomplish. Fortunately, the finished product was well worth the effort! In fact, we weren’t the only ones who thought this project was something special; our Central Florida office received AmericanHort’s International Plantscape Gold Award for our work there.
